Modern lighting fixtures with excellent performance have laid a solid hardware foundation for the success of large-scale outdoor performances, but the key to the quality of the performance of the performance still depends on the creativity of the lighting designer.

        

Compared with outdoor performances, outdoor performances have many characteristics.

        

First, the area of ​​outdoor performance venues is much larger than that of a general frame-type stage. Therefore, the projection distance between the lamp position and the performance area is relatively long.

        

Second, the outdoor performance venues do not have the inherent lighting system and lighting boom lifting system inherent in the frame-type stage. Most of them are temporarily set up, whether it is the setting of the total power supply, the calculation of the amount of wires, lamps, or the selection of the control system Waiting for work, almost all have to start from scratch. Due to the large variety and quantity of lamps used in outdoor performances, the rationality must be considered in the layout of the lighting control room, power supply room, and various lamp positions.

        

Third, the special characteristics of outdoor performance venues and the special requirements of the nature and content of the program, especially the requirements of the director's overall artistic conception, require special lighting design solutions to meet, and sometimes even increase the special lamp position to complete the performance task.

  

Fourth, outdoor performances cannot change the scene like a theater on the stage design. Therefore, lighting is mainly needed to set off the beauty and atmosphere.

        

Fifth, the outdoor performance auditorium is generally a three-sided audience, and the visual needs of the left and right audience cannot be ignored when the lights are arranged. If there is a TV broadcast or video, you also need to know the relevant requirements in advance and consider them when designing the lighting.

 

In view of the above reasons, the lighting design of outdoor performances should comprehensively consider all aspects of the situation, and even in most cases, should also take into account the surrounding natural landscape lighting and connection issues. In a sense, the lighting design of large-scale outdoor performances needs to grasp the overall space environment of the performance in a more macroscopic way and serve the performance in a meticulous and thoughtful manner.
