Information
Stage lighting is one of the means of dancing beauty modeling. Through the use of certain technological means, according to the development of different plots, and under the mapping of different stage lights, it can play a role in highlighting the psychological changes of characters or rendering the atmosphere. Stage lighting is the finishing touch of a performance, so stage lighting design is especially important. Today, I will introduce some issues that should be paid attention to in stage lighting design.

01How to set the type of scene light
Scene lights are generally divided into three types: natural light, artificial light, or a combination of both.

Natural light is actually what we call sunlight, and there are three issues to be aware of when using sunlight: time, weather, and brightness of light sources. But I think that the operation of natural light is more difficult, because many times you can only

Artificial light is the opposite of natural light. Artificial light is the most common and common among the three light sources. Lamps, stoves, or some objects that can emit light are recognized as artificial light as long as they can illuminate the surrounding environment. However, it should be noted that the use of artificial light needs to consider the source and quality of the light; if there are several light sources, it is necessary to clearly distinguish what the main light source is and determine whether the light source has colored light. It should be noted that almost all light sources have one or more colored colors, not just pure white.

The last type of light is a combination of natural and artificial light. When shooting outdoors in bright light, photographers or lighters use mirrors or auxiliary lights to soften harsh shadows.

02 Purpose of using light design
Basically the tone and atmosphere of the scene is about the most important lights. In some cases, the sole goal is to see one or more objects clearly, but it can actually become very complicated.

Lights help express emotions, or guide the viewer ’s line of sight to a characteristic location, or allow the viewer to form a special visual effect, which can provide greater depth to the scene and show a sense of hierarchy. Therefore, what tone should be expressed in lighting design and whether the designed light can better enhance the depth level.

03 References for Scene Design
When creating realistic scenes, you should develop the habit of drawing from actual photos and movies. Reference materials can provide you with better clues, so that you can clearly understand how a particular object or environment needs to use lights at different times of the day. Careful analysis of the light distribution can better adjust the basic position and intensity of the light. Although the number, type, and individual properties of light sources will vary from site to site, there are three basic types of light sources: key, supplemental, and background, which work together in harmony.

04How to use key light
The key light is the main light source in a scene. The key light is not necessarily just a light source, but the key light is the main light source of the photo. Similarly, the key light may not be fixed in one place like a point light source.

Although the point light source is usually placed in three quarters of the position (45 degrees from the front of the object and 45 degrees from the center line, this position is often used as a fixed position), but according to the needs of the specific scene , Can also come from below or behind the object, or any other location. The key light is usually the light source that is placed first and makes it establish a preliminary lighting effect in the scene.

Although the initial placement provided a good way to illuminate the object, the result was indeed a monotonous and uninteresting effect. Shadows are usually rough and very noticeable. Also, the scene always looks too dark because there is no natural light to set off the shadow areas. It will still be useful in certain scenes, but it won't be appropriate for most pictures.

05How to use supplemental light
The supplemental light is mostly used to fill the dark and shadow areas of the scene, and the supplementary light's light can provide depth of field and realistic feeling.

The more important supplementary light comes from natural slow refraction. This type of light is often called ambient light. Part of the reason this type of light is important is that it increases the brightness of the entire scene, but the ambient light of most renderers is uniformly applied to the entire scene. Although it reduces the overall darkness of the scene, it eliminates some possible features. It cannot be modeled against any light and shadow on bright objects, which makes the scene look unrealistic.

The best way to simulate ambient light is to place a low-intensity spotlight or floodlight in a reasonable position in the scene. In addition to the natural scattered light or ambient light in the scene, supplementary light is used to illuminate too dark places or emphasize parts of the scene. They can be placed opposite to the key light to soften the shadows.

06How to use backlight
The background light is usually used as "edge light", which separates the target object from the background by illuminating the edges of the object. It is best placed directly opposite three-quarters of the critical light. It acts on the edges of the object and causes small areas of specular highlights. This kind of highlight will make the object add authenticity to the scene.
